I think Sunil nailed the issue: the mag is meant to hold only 5 rounds.

While it may hold a sixth round, you're probably overcompressing the mag spring. Also, with it being overfilled, that can cause the slide to hang up on initial load.

Only load 5 and most of your problems will disappear.
