Canadian Target Shooters take two medals at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival
At the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival underway in Sydney, Australia, two of Canadaís most promising youth target shooters have shown the world they are ready to compete.
Sixteen year old Aerial Arthur of Saskatoon, SK captured a silver medal in the womenís 50 metre, 3-position rifle event on January 17th.
Eighteen year old Jeremy Gyoerick of Prince Albert, SK won the bronze medal in menís rapid fire pistol earlier today.
Stefan Baumfeld of Brooks Alberta is currently in second position after the first day of menís trap shooting competition. Stefan looks forward to day two of trap competition tomorrow, January 19th.
Nine countries are competing in the Olympic shooting events at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF), an international multi-sport event organized by the Australian Olympic Committee January 16 to 20, 2013. It has been held biennially since its first successful event in 2001.
